Located in the heart of Chinatown and close to Flushing Main, John Hotel was a very good experience. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and the room was spacious. The heating and insulation was excellent and the room amenities were good. The hotel offered a free fast wi-fi and plenty of channels to browse on TV. Breakfast was decent but of limited variety. The breakfast room is tiny and can accommodate only about 20 people and feels stuffy if it is full. The housekeeping for replacing the toiletries could have been faster. These are not deal breakers but take a little bit of sheen from the experience. The hotel is upgraded in terms of other areas and is very reasonably priced compared to others. Location is superb given the direct train to Manhattan and most attractions via the subway.

100% recommend this hotel. My family of 5 (3 kids under 12 years old) was very comfortable in the suite with the 2 queen beds and sofa bed. Very spacious. Very clean. Nice bathroom. This place is a hidden gem. Next to Tangram Mall and countless Asian restaurants. 5 min walk to the subway. Outside is very unassuming but the rooms are very nice and modern. Breakfast was very average (assortment of bread, coffee, oatmeal, rice porridge) but there are many bakeries nearby with delicious Asian pastries. My family and I will definitely stay at this hotel next time we come to NYC.

We would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the service and care we received at John Hotel, where we wanted it to be perfect. Your staff did not disappoint us, even though we did not feel lonely during the stay. I’m writing as a very satisfied guest at John Hotel under difficult circumstances. The allocated room - 402; might be the newly retrofitted with new concept of milky white color palette, Decorative Art work on the wall, Perfect and effective Cool white Lightening, Comfortable cooling, Quality Mattress with finest material for comfortable sleep, Linen Towel, newly Polished furnitures - Doors - Knob / handles, Refrigerator, Microwave, Hair Dryer, Outside view of main street etc fascinate me. How can we forget to praise the mouth watering Morning Breakfast. Thank you for your gracious understanding and responsible responsibility. We could see from Check-In that the hotel service has a great quality, both because of its comfortable and appropriate facilities, as well as service and constant concern for my comfort. Special Thanks to the RECEPTION personal; especially for being aware of my requirements. During the stay, we have personally noticed that the hotel staff are dynamic, hard working, passionate at work, willing to take over new challenges and responsibilities. They did their tiresome duties with a smiling face for luggage handling during check in – check out etc, performance was remarkable. Appointed staff maintained a positive attitude and ensured we felt good welcome during the stay. Everyone was treated with dignity and respect. We were amazed at the consistency in their performance and willingness to go the extra mile. The staff were well groomed and took pride as representatives of the Home away from the Home. Though we have the facility of staying at a relative's / friend's house, we have already decided to return to John Hotel for the next visit and would like to check in again in room 402 subject to the future confirmation, just for kind info only. The hotel is clean, great location, and good customer service. The breakfast is decent. The main issue for us is the water pressure in the shower. We made a complaint and they supposedly fixed it but didn’t help much. So if you want to have a hot pressured shower then this hotel isn’t for you. The bathroom door lock wasn’t working but it wasn’t that big of a deal. No hotel transportation service to and from the airport although they do have a hotel van sitting in front of the hotel, assuming it’s for VIP only.

We stayed at this hotel two separate times last week, once in a basement room (CR level - there was a window) and then on floor 7 (views!). The decor is a Motel 6 vibe but the location and value can't be beat - we love the food in Flushing and the close proximity to the 7 subway to get to Brooklyn and Manhattan. The hotel will also arrange car service to either airport for pickup in the lobby at a better price than a rideshare. Moreover, New York recently banned short-term airbnb stays... Each room offers a small microwave, fridge, a pack for one cup of coffee. A full breakfast buffet (keep your expectations low) is available on the first floor - loved that it was available until 10:30a. The showers are very good and the towels are magnificent. The front desk seemed to always be staffed - loved that you could fill up your water bottle in the lobby and the graphic maps of the area around the hotel on the lobby walls. There were pipe or water noises in our basement room but they weren't bothersome - the staff was also loud in mid-morning but not bothersome. The mattresses were quite firm but I slept well on them. We wished for second pillows.
